In Godzilla: Final Wars, he was killed by Godzilla. The aliens, however, decided to keep him and upgraded him with all of that other stuff. He killed Mothra, who killed him in return by ramming into him while she was on fire. Anyways, I'm pretty sure the PS2 version has the original Showa Gigan on it. By the way, I'm not quite sure if that's the upgraded Gigan because I haven't seen Final Wars yet, it may just be his overall Millennium series look.
