First of all Baby Godzilla looks like a Marsh Mellow Puff Man. You know what that means! CORNY! How'd that guy live though the storm anyways? But still I have to give it a three because it is wicked funny.

This was the only Godzilla movie that scared me as a child. Those giant mantisses creeped me out. As an adult I still find them kinda creepy.

What the hell? Is that the pilsberry dough boy? Holy Crap!! It's
godzilla's son!!! Hey, wait a minute I thought godzilla was male. And that he was the only godzilla. Well, so much for that way of thinking. Anyways this movie is part of the island trilogy witch Toho made in order to save money. The idea was to have godzilla fight on an island so they would not have to spend money on model buildings. Godzilla doesn't look that great in this movie. Neither did his son minya or manilla, who resembled the pilsberry dough boy. At least kamacuras and kumonga look awesome. The story and charecters in this film wern't the best but defintely not the worst. One thing I enjoyed about this film are the battles. These fights were kinda
brutal. Kamacuras got one of its legs torn off and then the poor thing was fried. Kumonga puntured godzilla's eye too. Minya even saves godzilla! Some other fun scences were of Minya playing games and the end scene where godzilla and his son stand huddled together in the snow. Minya hsn't appeared since Godzilla vs. Gigan and only appeared in 4 godzilla movies. Althogh Junior is also the son of godzilla he still isn't really Minya. Minya will be appearing in godzilla's 28th film
Godzilla Final Wars.

Though this film starts off very promising (a second godzilla rumoured, a reporter on an island where sinister experiments are going on, a glimpsed giant mantis), things go swiftly into the mire as soon as the ludicrous, horrifyingly twee Godzilla Jnr shows up to indulge in stupid, unfunny rock-throwing contests and battle the most unconvincing giant spider ever come across. Presumably this is aimed at younger viewers (that old excuse for making a duff film rearing its ugly head again), but when I saw this film as a youngster I was completely bored by the lifeless slow-moving 'plot' and thought the special effects nothing short of laughable. This film only gets two stars because it's better than that dire 1998 Godzilla re-make. See 'Destroy All Monsters' or 'Godzilla Vs Ghidorah' instead.

Out of all the Godzilla movies this has to be the worst. Godzilla looks nothing like he did in the previous movies, he looks deformed and looks as though someone was really making and effort to make him look phony. However the only thing that does redeem this movie is that it has an assortment of monsters. The sea monster, the giant spider, the giant mantids, Gabbara, angillas etc. . If you are a die hard G-fan you will appreciate any Godzilla movie [pre-Matthew Broderick]. I have to add it to my collection simply because it is a G-movie.
